How do you get into Google Alerts?

I subscribe to some alerts and I think a lot of people do too. How do I get my article into a Google Alert? I think it would be good advertising.

Write quality content would be the first start.

But how will they find it?

Google should be extracting keywords from blogs, but you will never know whether your entry made it or not, like what submerge said, just write your contents, make sure it is written long enough with quality keywords within and you might just get lucky on google alert.
