This is for all the web designers out there.
How long does it usually take to build your website from start to finish?
Please give an an approx timeframe...
I usually spend 2 - 3weeks on a small - mid sized site consisting of about 50 - 70 pages. That is just the designing and programming. No S.E.O

May I ask what the 50-70 pages are for? In my experience, unless the site is quite large, most sites contain maybe 2-3 pages... I mean there'd be other pages of course, but with the same template basically and just a title image changed usually...
I don't design anymore (I did once upon a time!) but it always depended on the site of course. For smaller sites, always with a unique style, it usually took me around a week to complete a site with graphics and HTML (I never did that CSS stuff... I'm too oldschool :P). For more graphic intensive designs like Movie-Vault.com it would take usually 10-14 days.

Sure, For instance when i was givin' a project to do for a wedding stationary company, they had alot of inventory such as, DL envelopes, letterheads, invitation cards, scrolls etc... And it took quite a few pages to insert all of these into...
you desined Movie Valut, very nice design...
And regarding css. It makes life so much more easier for designing sites, I'm glad i learned myself a few years back.. So many hours saved :)

Hmmmm. I normally do sites quite quickly. I'm more of a quantity over quality type guy. Particular for AdSense sites.
I normally pay for the content / pay someone to get the content. I can do a good CSS layout in about 2 hours or so then I'd say about a day or two to write the queries and back end. Researching the competition and making my outputs differ / better takes the most time I'd say. All my off site SEO is handled by my link guys so for me personally there is only a couple of days work or so involved in putting a site up.
I tend to build my sites in a way that they self build as far as content goes and require little to no administration.

Interesting question. Depends on the site. Personal projects are usually spur of the moment things, where i see an opportunity and pounce.
It can take little more than two hours for design/code and getting it live on a domain (my domain registrar is freeking quick).
Other projects can take weeks as they need a proper IA developed.

No more than 2-3 days to be honest. But that's just a main page and subpage.

It would take me a couple of days if I didn't already work 9-5.

Well it ultimately depends on the project scale, and what type of website it is.
For some of my previous and now ongoing websites, it has taken over a month or two. But for some much smaller websites, such as a recent one I made - http://www.soo.in - took a little over a day to complete entirely.

Had no idea you designed movie vault, nice job. Since I lack knowledge in css or php at the moment I have to rely on outsourcing. Currently learning css from a book so I will no longer have to deal with freelancers.

It usually takes me 1 day to 2 weeks. It depends on how large the website is.

I usually work on the design for 3-4 hours, and partner would usually take a few more hours to code, and implement scripts (if needed). All of this is ofcourse over a few days/weeks.
