It happens sometimes, you have several projects due and all of sudden you lake that spark of motivation to get it all done. When you find yourself unmotivated or in need of inspiration where do you turn?

I was hoping these forums would act as a way to keep me motivated, but I've found them to be rather distracting. :)

I have been nothing but motivated for a long time now. What stops me is not having enough energy or focus. I have tons of ideas, a billion things to do, and all the motivation in the world.. just need to find energy somewhere!

I'm always motivated because of the small success I've experienced so far. Money is my motivation. Money money money money money money money money. I like money. Money.

Money money.

Money may not be a motivating factor for you though, although I don't see how it couldn't be. If money isn't your motivating tool, perhaps the perks of working for yourself at home, being able to travel with no job to tie you down, and working whenever you want are.

Money is definitely a powerful source of motivation for all of us.

When it comes to my own personal projects I have all the motivation in the world. Although I find that most of my income comes from custom website and development. So I guess in that respect I'm in a slightly different situation than you.

I have several contracts with some very high profile companies from around the world. Lately I've been finding it a little difficult to keep focused and stay motivated. This typically happens once a month or so.

It's almost like I have burnt-out and my brain needs a rest for a while. During this time I find myself working on personal projects. Not necessarily to generate direct revenue but as an outlet for my creativeness (instead of developing applications and websites for others, I get to take control and develop them for myself).

In general I am a very focused and motivated person, but sometimes there can be lapses. Perhaps I'm in need for a holiday to refresh my mind? :)

For motivation, I go for a long morning walk. Then I come and watch TV. Then I go for a game of pool with my friends. Then the night out at the local pub. Then when the next day I come back to my computer, I find that all the earlier feelings of dejection are gone away.
