There seem to be a lot of people here making a decent living. Maybe no internet millionaires, but definitely some people who are doing pretty well for themselves. Personally, I'm set to pull in about $20k this year. That might not be much for some people, but for a college student who has most tuition covered by scholarships, $20k is huge. And for most people in the world, $20k would be a fortune.
I want to organize a donation drive for web publishers. Here is my idea: take a percentage of your revenue for next month (September) and pledge to donate it. Then, at the end of the month, I could get the details from everyone (how much donated, and to where) and post it on the web somewhere. I think it would be a great thing to do, and I am sure that we could raise a good amount of money.
Whether anyone else goes along with this or not, I am going to donate all of my revenue from September to charity. Not profit; revenue. My profit from other months can cover the expenses in September. So, I'll probably end up donating something like $2000.
So what do you guys think? Would anyone be interested in participating in this? If there are a few more people that are interested, we should start a website and try to get some more people to participate. Setting September as the month for this would give us a few weeks to promote it.
