Hey i am new to making websites and I was wondering if you can make forums with publisher? Or is it to hard, if so can somebody turn me on to something easier? I want to make a vido game forum if that would help.:)

You do not start out making forums with Frontpage. You start out by purchasing a license or using a free forum script such as PHPBB.

Install it to your server and your forums is up! :)

Well thats a spirit breaker, i will probably give up now.:(
But i know a person that has a account for making a website and I might be able to use that, will that work?

To be honest Greyskull, it sounds like you are brand new to the Internet. You may want to pick up a book for complete beginners on making websites, or find an online tutorial to teach you from the ground up.

I'd personally recommend that you take the HTML route instead of the WYSIWYG route (Don't worry about those terms for now, but you'll see them a lot when searching for books/tutorials).

Good luck!

Edit: I just reread your message and understood it a bit better - you want to run a forum. There are actually various sites online where you can easily create a forum and run it off their services, some of these forum-hosting sites are free and others cost money. You could start by trying something like this, but even though you're new I wouldn't advise it. I'd rather recommend that you rent a virtual server and run either a free forum script like phpBB as mentioned above, or go for the gold and get vBulletin straight off.

Well I was going to use phpBB, thats what my dad used to make his forum but I wanted something a little better. Unfortunily (sorry for the spelling errors) vBullitin costs money,
and i live in the middle of NOWHERE, and i cant find any books on html. I was trying ot make one i Microsoft publisher but that failed. I will keep trying though.

Well you can always start with phpBB and then import it to vBulletin as vB can convert from phpBB...

I see you want to step up and start out with forums. I seriously don't believe that forums is the best place to start out with. It's something that you should do but not as your first website.

Start out with something that's not very difficult to run such as a blog and then work your way up. You can always create a video game blog discussing the new video games and receive tons of traffic if you do it right. Forums are harder to run at the beginning. It will take some time to grow if you do not do proper promotion.

Just some hints that you can use from an experienced web publisher. :)

Forums with publisher. You are new... :P just joking.

PHPbb is probably powerful enough, particuarly if you're just getting started.

Especially when it's free and just recently got a new change. Saves a lot of money and works perfectly just like any paid ones out there.

IMO phpBB, when used correctly can easily be as good as vBull, plus its free and offers a ton of add ons.
