I am still confused?

I am still confused on this new thing with Google and how you can not pay for links? Though, it seems that some can get away with it and others can not.

I am really confused on this matter!

You aren't going to get penalized for doing a little something here and a little something there. The point is, if you're doing something on a large scale to artificially inflate your site's success in the eyes of google... then you can always be brought down to earth.

That's what Tyler and John Chow did with their, "Review my site and I will link back to you" and now they have hundreds of reciprocal links which I'm guessing Google's new little PR algo was able to detect.. thereby bringing their PR back down.

PR doesnt mean a darn thing.. but the same thing can happen to your organic search rankings for various keywords, etc...

Just stick to the basics and don't try and trick google... and you're less likely to be punished.

Yea, but it seems as if everyone is getting the G bang! I always like to say G always wins no matter what. Even in John Chow case, in the dean G won I honestly believe.

Let the Big G keep doing that and watch them poor down like ashes. It's possible that they can go down but it would take a lot of work. They just sent me a warning on Adsense for invalid clicks which I'm 100% unaware of and have no clue which website am I receiving it from. I quickly took them off but if I took the chance of leaving them on, then who knows when I would get suspended. Probably days from now.
