View Full Version : Help me improve my earnings...

My site, www.offbeatink.com, has experienced massive growth in the past month despite only being 60 odd days old.

Traffic is continuing to rise to approximately 2,000 uniques per day - which I personally think is really good for a site within a niche that has a lot of competition - however I am not seeing the results money wise.

I am banned from Adsense for unknown reasons and don't want to go back to them incase they take my earnings again! I am currently using Value Click Media and whilst the CTR is high, my earnings are not as I expected.

I am testing Media Jumps Quick Links and they are converting ok but the PPC rate is still low.

I applied to Tribal Fusion and sent them an e-mail to chase up the progress of my application.

I tested Widget Bucks and Adbrite but their conversions are rubbish.

Can anyone recommend anything else?

I feel I could be earning a lot more without having to bombard my visitor base with popunders etc.

Any tips/suggestions/comments welcome!

Hey, you should try TNX which tyler just reviewed on http://publisherspot.com. You could try a few others that he has reviewed.

Thanks for your suggestion but TNX helps you earn more from your PR than anything else.

Have you tried yahoo ads?

By the way, congrats on your success, and I hope it keeps growing! :)

A more trusted network that doesn't ban people as much as Adsense does would be Bidvertiser.

Join them and test them out for a week and see the results you get. :)

Personally, I would think that yahoo would pay out better than Bidvertiser.

Yahoo ads will surely pay better than bidvertiser

I am in the UK so can't do YPN.

Bidvertiser sucks - no offence to anyone who likes them!

how about kontera ads? Although, personally I am not too fond of kontera ads.

side note: Are you running a really tricked out wordpress theme on that site?

Kontera don't convert well for me.

side note: Are you running a really tricked out wordpress theme on that site?

Just a theme I found on the net and added plugins, why?

In my list, i say adsense was one of my biggest income, now it is widgetbucks, but i have yet to receive a payment since they will pay out only during dec 31st.

kontera seems like a good way to convert, but you need visitors in order for that to happen, 2000 uniques a day seems like a good conversion.

I would try and tap into the culture and personality of tatoo fans. Why not try a few affiliate programs that are loosely related? Test each and see which works best, if any.

Here are a few ideas:

1) Sell concert tickets for Rock/Metal shows
2) Sell iTunes music for list of "Top 10 Tattoo Tunes"
3) Sell stuff from ebay... just go on there and search for tattoo and see what types of products you can sell
4) How about rocker clothes like leather jackets?
5) Music T-shirts or clothes from Cafe Press that people who like Tattoo's would like.

Just ideas off the top of my head.
Good luck
Let us know how it goes.

AdBrite is definitely horrible.

If you can get accepted to Tribal Fusion, which you should be able to with 2,000 uniques per day, although I'm not sure they will accept your niche, you should do very well with them.

Next, I'd recommend Casale Media (aff (http://www.publisherspot.com/go/casalemedia)), not just because they're my #1 referring network, but they're genuinely a great ad network. They pay out 70%, and are similar to ValueClickMedia and TribalFusion. But ValueClickMedia pays out a bit less, and has a lot more 'spammy' ads, and Tribal Fusion is harder to get into.

You may also want to experiment around with some integrated AdSense within the sides, using their AdLinks. And have you tried looking for some relevant CPA offers? There may be some simple related offers such as online music store stuff you can try...

I have joined linkworth and have made several link sales off of it, its a smaller program right now but its treated me good so far. I always try a little bit of everything because you dont want to put all your marbles in one basket!

i did make some from linkworth too, but i still prefer a larger ad network like casale media or tribal fusion

Tried AdToll, maybe selling weeklong bookings on your site is the way to go (AdEngage does the same)

Yeah probably best to try Yahoo Ads + Kontera. Keep the valueclick ads for now until you get accepted into Tribal Fusion. They are you best bet, if they ever answer back to you. They always take ages but. Receiving a reply in 48 hours is complete bullshit, unless you own myspace or something.
