I wish I could go back to college and hang out with the computer nerds instead of the fraternity boys. Start my own business in a basement and make a ton of money.

Yeah, my future in a cubicle working for the man while my websites sit stagnant.

Man, I need to win the lotto so I can quit this job and work full time on my sites.

Anyone want to contribute to the "Help Me Quit Work" charity?

You and I are a lot alike... the only difference?

I MIGHT be able to quit my job by the end of 2007... one of my sites hit it big. My suggestion? Only run a few sites and try to make them the best sites you possibly can before moving on.

A long-term/short-term philosophy is a great approach. Why not focus on building a few amazing sites and, in the meantime, build 1 site a week that you will try to sell. Let that site build up for a month and then sell it after 3 months. You'll probably have the best luck once PR increases (as dumb as it is). So if you build 1 site a week and let them sit and collect backlinks and do the necessary promotion.... 3 months down the line you'll be selling 1 site a week.

If you can fetch $300 for each of these sites than you will be making an extra $1200/month in income. Now, you can't your job based on that, but what you CAN do is invest that into your kick butt sites to make them bigger and badder than ever.

A bit of a ramble but... if you throw enough spaghetti at the wall, eventually something's gonna stick.

I think it is best you Pm him and ask him for the niche he is talking about, its trade secrets.

I am more looking for that one site that sits without me having to interact with it, and just collects a ton of money. Like Tyler and his PokerForums. He may have to do some Admin stuff on the site, but other than that, it just collects big time money.

Then sell it for 7 figures and retire.
