1. I noticed that the Advertise your Services forum had a lot of threads created that weren't following the forum's guidelines (http://www.publisherforums.com/showthread.php?t=42)of:

The Advertise your Services forum is reserved for advertising services only.

Some accepted examples are:

Web Design
Graphic Work
Programming
Skinning/Specialty WorkSome prohibited examples are:

Advertising your site
Selling advertising on your site
Selling a product

To help clear any possible confusion, I've renamed the The Advertise your
Services forum to Freelance Services.

I also rewrote:

"The Advertise your Services forum is reserved for advertising services only."

to:

"The Advertise your Services forum is reserved for advertising or seeking freelance services only."

2. Since there were a lot of incorrect threads in this forum, I've created two new infraction penalties. These were created not to be any more aggressive in moderating the site, but to simply provide more accurate descriptions when giving infractions.

The two new infraction levels are: Incorrect Forum which gives 1 infraction point and expires in 1-month, and Forum Rule Infraction which gives 1 infraction point and expires in 2-months.

The latter is used for when threads are created which don't follow the specific forum's guidelines.

3. I've updated the official Forum Rules (http://www.publisherforums.com/showthread.php?t=256) to reflect these changes:

Read Forum-Specific Rules Before Posting

Some forums contain their own special rules. These are always located at the top of all the other threads in a forum "Sticky". Be sure to read and follow these rules. Failure to do so will result in 1 infraction point which expires in 2 months.

Post in the correct forum

When creating a new thread please make sure you are posting it in the correct forum. Posting in the wrong forum creates more
work for the moderators to move the thread to the proper forum. Moving threads also leads to confusion when people look for
the thread. Offenders will usually given a warning, but repeat offeners will be penalized with 1 infraction point which expires in 1 month.

Update: I just moved all the threads from Help Wanted and moved them to Freelance Services (http://www.publisherforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15), and then removed the Help Wanted forum altogether.

With the rename of Freelance Services, it became clear that the Help Wanted forum was unneeded.

Liking the change, a well thought out decision.

Therefore selling hosting plans over in that section would be against the rules? Right Tyler?

I think you should be able to sell whatever you want... I mean cmon, the idea of this site is to help people become more profitable - isn't it? So why shouldn't someone be able to connect with an advertiser who wants to purchase a banner ad or text link?

If someone is selling complete crap or spamming than ban them, but why shutdown an entire "marketplace"? I don't really care either way... I mean you can always go to other sites for the marketplace but... I don't know...
