Imagine if you were suddenly, for some reason, transported back 10 years ago knowing what you do about the Internet now.
What would you do?
The year is 1997 and the World Wide Web is brand new and very experimental still. Remember that things such as domain and hosting fees were much more expensive than they are now, and that even Internet Access was expensive, and dial-up.
Try to be realistic.. don't just say you'd make YouTube, as that is a big undertaking, and I'm not even sure Flash was invented yet. And of course, nobody would be able to handle that amount of bandwidth for videos.
Personally I'd work a part-time or full-time job and purchase as many premium domains as I could. Within a day I think I could probably purchase 10 domains that would in today's dollars be worth at least 5-million dollars. But domains were like $70 a year back then, which is why I'd need a part-time or full-time job to handle this.
I guess I'd also invest in Microsoft... but domains would be the easiest and surest way to take advantage of the time shift!
What about you?
