You may have noticed (if you didn't notice, something may be wrong with you :)) that there appears to be a lot of forums here. 25 to be exact.

My original intention of PublisherForums was to focus on the publishing aspect of web development in the sense of monetizing your site as well as online business and entrepreneurial discussion. However, as I created the various forums, I felt that other sections would be just as welcome.

The question now is, is it too much? Should I get rid of some?

Right now I see three options:

1. Remove some forums. If I had to, I'd probably remove "Advertise your Services", "Templates & Graphics for Sale", and "Contests".

2. Find a vBulletin hack/mod that allows me to use subforums (which display and link from the main page) like DNForum.

3. Leave it as it is. It could turn out to be just perfect the way it is. It may just look strange now that it isn't in a skin and has no posts yet.

Anyhow, state your opinions please. Hell, I'll make this a poll.

Honestly it's not that big. But there are some forums that can be put into sub forums and would make it look a lot nicer.

I'm strongly considering getting rid of Templates & Graphics for Sale (http://www.publisherforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=12).. I don't think there would be much use of that..

There are far too many 'Marketplace' forums at the moment. I think: Websites; Graphics; Coding; Other.
Would be enough for now... Then expand as neccessary.

I'm sure you could just cut down on a few of them untill the site gets bigger

It's absolutely perfect as it is. I'll be back later tonight to post in a lot of them. Don't remove any of them, the variety and uniqueness of the forums setup here will always keep me coming back. The Business & Finance forums are a lovely addition.

I would remove some forums basically by creating new forums.. I.e. making one forum to cover a few topics.

You're talking about mergine some, yes I thought about that too. Although, right now I think there's at least one I can get rid of without any real regrets...

I'm going to wait and see how the distribution of posts goes though before I do anything.

I would delete the Marketplace and replaced the category with one forum instead.. at least now in the beggining.

You are the forum' PRO so you would know its better to start small and later add more ..

As stated above, I think that merging a few forums to begin with, e.g. the marketplace could have a "Buy, Sell & Trade" section covering the first 4 topics.

As you are well aware though, it is only because the forum is new and has a lack of posts does it seem too big. I'm sure with your previous forum success it will become big soon!

I'd search for an Vbulletin hack/mod that allows you to have subforums. This way you could just make a marketplace (or whatever you'd like to call it) and place everything concerning people's offers and requests in that forum.
