Hello,

I'm interested in trying out Googles Referral system, telling people about Adsense.

I have a question, from what I read, Google will send me $100 for each person I recommend who makes $100 within 6months. So if a user I recommend makes $100, I get $100 - is that a one off fee to me, e.g. I can't make any more money from that user after that?

Has anyone had great sucess from referrals? Any hints/tips?

Thanks

Yes, it looks like it:

Your earnings for referrals will vary depending on the product you're referring.

AdSense: When a user you've referred to AdSense first earns US$100 within 180 days, we'll credit your AdSense account with US$100.
Firefox plus Google Toolbar: When a user you've referred to Firefox plus Google Toolbar runs Firefox for the first time, you'll receive up to US$1 in your account, depending on the user's location. Your referral must be a Windows user, who has not previously installed Firefox, in order for you to receive credit.
AdWords: When a user you've referred to AdWords signs up and spends US$100 within 90 days, we'll credit your AdSense account with US$20.
Pack: When a Windows user you've referred to Pack downloads and installs the product, you'll receive up to US$2 in your account.
Picasa: When a user you've referred to Picasa downloads and runs the product for the first time, we'll credit your account with up to US$1. The user you refer must be using Windows and not have previously installed Picasa in order for you to receive credit.

I used to run referalls on a lot of my sites, but I only ever made a few bucks off of them (most being Firefox with Google toolbar). I've yet to receive a $100 payment from google for an Adsense sign up (I think I've only had one sign up in the six months I've done it).

There's really too little variety in the Google Adsense Referrals, whenever there's a new referrals design out, it get SPAMs throughout the entire internet. Before we know it, everyone will avoid it. Maybe they should do a blogads kind of model. We upload our design. :P

I've had them credit my account $100 for a referral to adsense. Shame I never received it. :(

Tyler, can you explain this a bit more.

I am new to this.

It's simple, you put out a download link the Adsense provides you. If the user clicks the link and then clicks the install button on the site, you'll be given $1 by Adsense. But the program can't be pre-installed on the PC already. The amount varies, it usually is a $1, but with these referrals I have been paid less than a dollar sometimes, that's why they say up to a $1.

I reckon it's difficult to get them as Adsense is widely known by now.

Well, the way Adsense wants you to advertise these referrals, it shouldn'r matter.

I no longer use Adsense, so I've made no referrals lately.

Right !

I just want to mention, that this is not profitable at all these times. Their payouts also have reduced a lot. I am looking for an alternative.

Oh I see.

I've heard they combine Picassa with the Google Desktop program. Once again declining their overall payouts.

Ummm!

Seems like they are going to hit rock bottom. I dont think they can sustain their competitors.
