paypal and ebay both suck, they take too much in fees. For example I got a payment via paypal for $1.99 usd, paypal took $0.37.

Yes, and they called it Google Gulp (http://www.google.com/googlegulp/)

In all seriousness, I think Google Checkout is in its early stages. Like most projects released by Google, they tend to gain features and functionality as time goes on. I think the 'PayPal Killer' will be integrated into Google Checkout in the future. Personally, I can't wait. I have had bad experiences with PayPal and I am eager to go with a new service.

Just a note, they don't accept non-US residents, at least not yet:
Hello Tyler,
Thank you for your email.
At this time, only merchants with a United States address and bank account
can integrate and process transactions through Google Checkout. We look
forward to making the service more widely available in the near future.
Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any additional
questions.
Sincerely,
Zack

They are now accepting most of the countries (http://checkout.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48115), a lot more then PayPal.

Ha, I tried out google checkout just for the free $10 offer. The websites they had listed for redeeming your $10 were horrible. Interestingly, they were very horribly made sites that had poor domain names, and seemed like either spam sites or scam sites.
They had a few good ones, but most were horrible. Which is why I stopped using Checkout that day and returned to paypal.

Yeah, I'm tempted to sign up for Google Checkout for the $10 sign up bonus. The only downfall is it expires March 31st, which I don't know if I'd buy anything by then.

Well, the expiration being so close I'm not going to sighn up at all really. Maybe there will be a special some other time down the road.

Unless they have something super super unique and impressive, I don't see why people would leave Paypal for Google.
