Get a cold

Last week a get a cold and it won't dissapear. I got heddic, feber, cough .. it realy sucks. Any good ideas to alleviate the pain?

Being sick is absolutely horrible... I think we all forget how bad it truely is when we aren't sick.

Dr. Tyler's Recommendation: Tylenol for pain, lots of liquids, buy Vitamin C tablets and overdose on them (take at least double what the bottle says), and just be sure to drink tons of water and liquids (non sugary). I know it hurts to do that but it's better in the long run..

For colds, I always take steam. Taking steam means that you take a mug and fill it with hot water. Then you just keep your nose a little bit above the water level and take deep breaths. It has been very useful for me.

Do you take cold syrup? I know many people don't take it when they get colds and have it for awhile. I'll take cold medicine when I get a cold because it seems to get rid of it a week later.

I dont like cough syrups either. They tend to dry it up instead of cleaning the mucous. It becomes really uncomfortable to even breath.
I generally just try not to expose myself to extreme weather, and it goes way in a day or two.

I guess maybe it all matters on the person, I know cold syrup works better than pills. And both work better than nothing, for myself. I once had a cold for over a month with just taking pills.

I have some sort of super cold at the moment.

I was told by a medical student, its impossible to have a cold for more than a week. You just get multiple colds in a row? Any truth in this.

Normally. I get cured in 4 to 5 days max, if its a very bad cold.
So he may be right.

It takes me 7 days, I wish it was 4 to 5 days. But for the past 2 colds I calculated how long it took to get rid of them and it was exactly 7 days each. Next time I feel a cold come one I should start guzzling the medicine.

Is the weather finally getting warmer around you? I'm loving it down here, incredible how the colds go away once the weather gets warmer.
