Have you ever applied for or received an award for your website? Or, do you care about awards?

I think awards are pointless unless you're really interested in YOUR graphic design. I hire a web designer when working with my graphics, so really no use to me at all.

Website awards are so very mid 1990's when the web was still identifying itself. The vast majority of awards are indeed completely meaningless. In fact, most sites that actual host or give the awards are shamelessly bad themselves.
I'm sure there are a few decent award sites out there, but even so, websites are a strange breed.. a mixture of art, business, and media.. I don't think awards could ever work as it's such a personal thing in most cases.

The CSS gallery sites are pretty cool. I don't know if that could be considered an award, but an accomplishment. I haven't received any awards, as I don't enter into any. I've had a few accomplishments.

To me awards does matter.. especially if I'm looking to sell my website in the long run. Let's say I operate a network of blogs (who doesn't these day :p ) and 30% of my blogs had won awards before.
Surely this will command a higher offer price, of course this has to be back by db logs, etc. ;)

True,m but the awards need some credentials because they could easily be manipulated or made up by the seller. But no doubt it would have impact if the award has credit to its name.
