Official announcement (http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/070110/20070110006144.html?.v=1) has been released by Ebay that it is acquiring the Online Tickets Marketplace StubHub (http://www.stubhub.com) for $310 million
StubHub is the largest tickets-only reseller of concert, sports, and event tickets, last year selling more than $400 million worth of inventory, and had an EBITDA of about $10 million but StubHub had been shopped around since October 2005.
So a nice walk ahead by Ebay to acquire such a huge site..

Don't really know what to say, it's just another market maybe they are trying to tap into for sales. I couldn't see any other reason to purchase it other than Ebay trying to be a ticket selling company now. It's pretty odd seeing all these sites I've never heard of being sold for big bucks.

Very true i agree with you.. and above all this website stubhub was dead since 2005 and now they are going to promote them..
but the benefit is that Ebay has brand name and hence Stubhub will again make come in market and it will be popular as earlier

That can be a thing seoindiaweb. But that way it seems to me that really ebay has not profited out of the deal and it is stubhub.com which has profited.

Probably I am thinking now. The might use it as their sister company for selling tickets.
