Question about resell rights...

I have an arcade script on my site, www.freeturnkey.net which I bought from a guy selling it, with resell rights, on ebay.

I was contacted by GameScript, the owners asking me to take it down.

I said, that because I purchased the script from a seller, who is still selling it on ebay, with resell rights, I was entitled to continue doing so.

Becuase I'm not a dick, I also stated that, if I was to get my money back and a little compensation to purchase another script, I'd happily take it down.

Anyone know where I stand?

My guess is that the guy that sold the script did not have resell rights, did you buy via paypal. I would get your cash back.

The persron you bought it from most likely doesn't have resell rights themselves and is trying to make as much money as possible...illegally.

Report this user to eBay with the case and make a claim to try and pull back a refund.

If you do not have a license from GameScript then I'm guessing the ebay seller lied or misrepresented himself. It looks as though you'll have to seek some compensation from the seller or else issue a complaint. Either way, it looks like GameScript is correct here...

I would say your pretty much S.O.L on that deal. Do a charge back on paypal and get your money back if you can. Sucks putting all your time into a site only to have it taken away. Good luck.

Seems he didnt have the permission from Gamescript, take the advice that others posted, such as charge back.

Take it down immediately, you're selling GameScript illegally. It's your responsibility to research the seller you bought from, take it down as soon as possible or you could face legal troubles.

Unforunately, gamescript are in the right here take the script down immediately.

Also it would not be wise to display the message "Note: We have Resell rights to all scripts available on this site." if you actually don't :) - you might be leaving yourself open to more legal action.

I dont think paypal allows chargebacks for virtual items (not confirmd).
