I am giving an overview of the terms associated with the Ads.

CPC = Cost per click - $$ you make every time someone clicks an ad.

CPM = cost per thousand (M) ads. $$ you will make for ever 1,000 ads (usually, banners) displayed on your site.

CPA = Cost per action. $$ you make every time someone clicks an ad and then DOES something, such as buy an item or register for a newsletter.

Hope this helps.

CPL = Cost Per Lead (almost the same as CPA)

What exactly is eCPM then?

eCPM is effective Cost per 1000 impressions. It represent the average earning which a publisher will earn for every 1000 impressions that he gets. It is easily calculated.

eCPM = earnings divided by number of impressions multiply by 1000.

That is good info for beginners. I have seen a lot of people confused about it at the early stages.

Oh, okay. Makes sense, it's the average per user.
