How many hours do you actually work on your sites per day on average?

For me, I'll have to give two numbers. I probably spend an average of around an hour per day doing actual on-target work. This means I'm focusing on the matter at hand and am not multitasking with a million other things.

However, you could also say I work 10-14 hours per day. Basically whenever I'm on the computer, which is the majority of the time, I'm always doing work in one form or another. I may be playing a game, only to take a quick break from the game to check my e-mail, give a quick reply, post on a couple of my forums, and sign-up a new advertiser, and then get back to my game.

Or, I may be chatting away in ChatWebDev (http://www.chatwebdev.com), listening to music, talking to people on MSN, surfing the web, and looking up stats on a poker affiliate, and count that as work too.

Basically, work is fun, and so I don't know if you can even call what I, or we, do for a living as work. Because as corney as it sounds, it really isn't work.. is it?

That being said, how many hours do you work per day?

My working hours are about 12 spread out during the day and night.
About 6 of them are really active and productive.

Yes, that is so true. The hours swish by without you noticing it.

10-14 certainly. This is sporadic though as i take breaks to do other things. A lot of work includes people international so time zones are a bit of an issue. Its usually up at 10am and bed by 2am.

For me, it really depends on the day. If im not working my normal job then I'll do 2 - 3 hours unless I'm writing travel content then its 5 or so hours... Workday I'll just make sure everything is running smoothly, and if I get the chance I'll try and write an article or 2 whilst I'm at work :)

Hmmm tough one. On my own business I'd say 3 - 4 hours a day. That's excluding time I spend chatting :)

I have a day job from 8:30 to 4:30, then I'm usually up until 11 or 12 working. I tend to do this in spurts of no work and then working a LOT. I've been known to stay up for a few days on end coding trying to finish off a project. I miss my contractor lifestyle :'(

I used to work 12+ hours a day. Basically every waking moment I would be developing software or websites, either for personal consumption or for clients.

Although that has dropped significantly now. In February I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition after being rushed to hospital one night. Since then I have made a conscious effort to keep my workload down to around 8 hours a day and to have the weekends off.

I don't get nearly as much done, but I do feel much healthier.

I work for only 1 hour daily. My sites are not quite well known but still, 1 hour a day is good for a hobby site, isn't it?

Only a couple hours a day if I'm not spending the time developing a site. I've got other priorities like school.
