Well, I have few "lists" of hostings, but before bomb you with all, what you need? Can you specify features (in order of importance)?
-RELIABLE as you said,
-shared, reseller...VPS
-Price
-Good PING from your PC (depends on your and server location). So you might want a server located close to you.
-multiple domains hosting maybe?
- how many mySQLs, mails
-space, bandwith
-cPanel
-PHP
-Fantastico and other.

I just opened a thread for exact that conversation. I have some private hosting and almost all my mates have the same - they all got hostings from some forum admins, lol. I'm just scared to flood this thread with all "the best" hostings, I've learned my lessons...

I heard Host Gator can be a good host for single-user plans.
I was going to use them, but went with a VPS solution instead.

I'm pretty happy with Eleven2.com at the moment - have been with them for about a year now with almost no problems.

I second A Small Orange, their support is amazing - like 60% of times I get a response in an hour, sometimes within minutes!

Check out 1&1 hosting. You get alot for your money with these guys. I have been with them for over 4 years now and have had no problems whatsoever.
