What was your first Internet venture?

Mine was a web site with some banners ads on, back in 99 I think.
It only gave a acouple of dollars, but it was a start anyway. But I would not really call it a real venture. :)

Hmm.. well I guess you could say it was when I bought turnkey (I didn't even know what turnkey meant at the time) PPC site on eBay. They just looked so awesome I was lured into buying them, thinking I could just 'buy' a portal/search engine, heh. However, I bought and resold a few of these and made my money back. Hey, I was young...

When I sold premium-membership to my members at a community I owned (Silverplanet.se for those who want to know)

It was back in '2002/2003

For me it was when I setup 123Cheats.net in 2000. I didn't actually start making money til 2003. But when I did start, I made lots :-) Not so much now though.

That's probably how he accumulated the revenue

As for me, I started off by making games with internal advertisement banners. I was doing something I loved, so whether it generated money or not was not an issue. Although it generated a bit of income, it wasn't enough to live off. Some advertisers started pulling their banners from my games after a few people developed business models similar to mine, unfortunately they decided it would have been a good idea to make the game automatically click on banners without the users knowledge.

Spent 5$ on some hosting, messed about with CSS and a upload script and stuck ads on :)

My first internet venture was a wallpaper site. I started it for hobby purposes but it started getting visitors. It is still a hobby website which i update once in a while but it earns me a decent income.
