Here's a list of sites with free or cheap stock photos. I've selected them from many other sites which claim to have them but are either not free or they just redirect you to some ads.
http://sxc.hu Free.
Can be 1,000 images/keyword. Search by keywords or top rated, textures, colors, shapes, blurs, playing with light.
http://Stockxpert.com $1-$20. Sister site of sxc.hu.
http://Fotolia.com $1-$3
I like this one. Precise results.
http://Dreamstime.com/ $1
They accept photos from users. You get about 50% commission from each sell.
http://Istockphoto.com from $1
Over 100,000 images/keyword. Only basic search options.
They also have videos from $10.
http://Photobox.ru Nice Russian site
http://morguefile.com Free
http://123rf.com Free
http://FreeFoto.com Free
Below one is probably not cheap:
http://Jupiterimages.com
Very detailed search options. Large database.
Maybe cheap and expensive photos can go in one thread, if they are only good.

I think I went through above list once and I picked out only the most user friendly sites with big databases. Stock photo sites almost allways look amazing when you see them first time, but when you try to find a particular image, you need
- good search options
- a lot of different, non-repeating images which corelate great with search term.

I registered at Jupiterimages.com just now, it's quick, no e-mail ver. needed. Some images are free. You can narrow search results very much (exclude non wanted words, chose horizontal/vertical position, B/W or color, with/without people etc, etc.) But not free. Even not cheap.

I love iStockPhoto.com. Always watch for their weekly free images/layouts. Also, the pricing vs. quality is killer. It's the only photo site I don't mind spending a few (and I mean only a few, great prices) bucks at for quality imagery.

I've just found very resourcable graphic/images/cliparts...search engine (Faganfinder) (http://www.faganfinder.com/img/). Nothing special, but you can choose to search from 100 greatest graphic resources from one place (one by one).

Well over thousand images for eah popular serch term Here's one page after search for "roof" (http://www.shutterstock.com/s/roof/search-p5.html?search_cat=&search_group=all&anyorall=all&color=&searchtermx=&orient=all). There are many ornaments and drawings, toys and models (like a model of a house), textures...

Do any of you ever hire people to take photos for you, or do you just grab something off the internet?
Like say you need a picture of something.
