i want to make a new site based around an affiliate program, but i don't really know what the best thing to do is. my previous (and only) attempt at this type of thing was a student loan consolidation website, and that went very well, but i want to branch out into another field. so maybe something that can work similarly to that, where i can get highly targeted traffic from search engines and convert at a high rate for $XX or so.
i don't really care so much about market saturation. mainly, i care about there being a decent sized market with reliable affiliates.
any thoughts? there's probably a ton of fields that would be good, so just throw some at me.

One option is reseller hosting. You find one (or two...) good fast, reliable and affordable reseller hosting with servers located in a specific area you chose, maybe in India...where a lot of computer users, programmers come, but maybe they need good hostings.

Maybe mortgages? Because of the housing boom, or does the slow down affect that?

I think that wouldn't be a good idea because if i'm correct, mortage rates go down when prices go down, which the house prices are because of the boom. I may be wrong.
I second the idea of reseller hosting. Buy a server and sell some space on it, it's a great way to make money if you have a good startup sum. If I had your money, I would buy a spot in a datacenter and resell it. That will definately bring in some income.

How do you go about buying a server in a datacenter and is it cheaper than bying direct from a hosting company?

Cheaper, no. But you are cutting the middle man out and maximizing your profits.

i'd rather have something more low-maintainance than reseller hosting. i don't want to have angry clients yelling at me if the server goes down or something..
mortgages are a good idea, i'll look into that. any others?
