When contacting people online, it's good to know if they are maybe sleeping at that time. I guess many are online during the night though.

Worldtimeserver (http://worldtimeserver.com)
Timezoneconverter (http://Timezoneconverter.com)
Worldtimezone (http://Worldtimezone.com) shows a map of a globe and all times in "real time". Also explains all those GMT,EST...time zone acronyms.

Synchronize your PC with atomic clock:

Online atomic clock (accurate to seconds, GMT).

/this could come in handy,. but recently I try to stick with individuals around me specifically for this reason. Don't like having to wait to call or talk to people.

just email them, and if that doesn't work out call them...

most things can be done though email, but contact will be slow

Of course I could email them, but I'd rather use IM.

Exact times can be important in "finish" moments of some contest or other offers...

Btw there is something like a "internet time" (dont know if that the real name) i used to have this watch (Swatch) that also had that funcion

it has 1000 "beats" in one day. and the internet time is the same all over the world

Swatch still promotes that time idea but the time is not the same all over the world .. aside from the 1000 beats idea instead of hours, minutes and seconds, Swatch just made their "Internet Time" Zurich time ... so if you're in Zurich you'd probably be sleeping from say 500 best until 800, but someone in California is sleeping at a completely different time ... hours or beats.

If you have Firefox, drop in the "FoxClocks" extension and put a little clock on the status bar for the place UR interested in.

www.timeanddate.com has a slick "meeting planner' that lets you build a table to show possible meeting times for up to five cities as well as GMT.

I've been using Yahoo IM since it used to be called Yahoo Pager, 11 or 12 years ago and I am still amazed, after all these years, they haven't built a little clock next to each person on your list so you could instantly see what time it is there ... seems like it would be very useful.

We can subscribe a petition and send it to Yahoo, MSN messenger and on forums... The worst thing are not worldtimezones, but the fact that everyone use their own name for them.
