Im building a site with a forum in its domain name and i dont time to really build a site. Plus i really wouldnt have any original content for it anyway so i just want it to be a forum something like this.

Now i think i know how to set it up. ill be using phpbb so instead of installing the forum in a forum folder i would just extract the files straight on to the site it self right? no folder?

and is this site custom made? i know you can download different templates but they usally have something lame like huge wordings that say like. "Lava template! download at blah blah" i tried to take it out but it just messes with the forum allignment so i dont even wanna bother trying to figure it out.

Anyway i dont expect much from free templates anyway so i shouldnt complain. But is there something people look for in forums? I know good templates could be the key to making it look good. rather than just another random forum someone started.

Yes, you just install the forum in the root directory of your domain. You probably should use a forum skin rather than the default, try to modify it to your liking, it'll give you more experience.

A template can make a forum appealing or not, but I really don't know many people who are dedicated to a template...it's a content on the end. Some very famous forums have lousy templates to say at least.
