I have currently 6-7 domain names that i think are decent to pretty good names. I only want to make and manage about 3-4 and i want to sell off the rest...

What i plan to do is build a one page website that gives a basic layout of what the new owner could take beyond and make himself...

I want to make these keep em for about a month to get em just right with some traffic then list them for sale. But...how much do these sites normally go for?

right now i make no income from my sites. But then again i just started about 6 months ago and about 3 months ago with alittle more serious. What im looking for is some "quick cash" possibly 100-500$ per website. I could be throwing away good sites that would have big possiblitys. but right now my parents think what im doing is a waste of time. And doing this is more of as a "hah i told you so" kind of thing. Right now they think im on the computer just to play games all day and they hate that.

really im spending 90% of my time managing and building up my new domain names. And since they see no income what so ever execpt the few times i sell a few domain names for like 20$ they think its a waste of time.

I mean it really doesn't bother me but they think its impossible to do it and i just want to prove them wrong with a little check with my name on it for like 500$ off one little website. Then when they see me on the net they can say. Well hes working, get alittle respect for being on the computer instead of just thinking i play games.

The domain worh depends on:
1. domain name, extension (.com worth the most), domain age (1year+ old domains have value because they might not stuck in the Sandbox)
2. content
3. hosting

Again, if you reveal the names, someone can tell more about this topic and give you domain appraisal.

oh my newest site i made is

www.sciligion.com im undecided weither or not i wanna keep or sell. It has great potential and sciligion means Sciligion - where the "science of religion" and the "religion of science" intersect.

just put it up week or so ago and i think it has great potential when i get more content up there.

if you have great content, and some visitors you can sell it for more than just $20, but for how much exactly, i don't know

it really depends on how much people want to give for it.

killafawk,

To get more for a site than $20 is certainly realistic, but to imagine $500 for a one page site with a month's worth of traffic is probably just day dreaming. Are you familiar with Sitepoint.com?

Go there and look at their domain name and developed website auctions. They have a _lot_ of sample in all kinds of ranges. Look at what's selling in the price ranges you want to be in and then you'll have a better handle on what you should think of getting for yours. You can kind of traffic figures sites kind of need for $500 sale prices too. Best of luck.

yea i understand, but i mean some domain names get 1,000 dollars just for the domain names. Ive seen stuff like catlitterbox.com sell for 1,200 bucks. Or at least thats what it said on sedo and it doesnt have any site content. I mean if there are people willing to pay 1,200 for names like that then im sure it can be done if your domain name is good enough on its own.
