To put it simply, it's a blog about blogging. I've finally decided to step it up a bit, and go for something productive that has a large potential draw of readers. Based on my own experience, i've been blogging since early 2002, I think it's finally time I share a few of the things i've picked up along the way.
I've spent a few weeks planning my content, and currently have content planned through the end of March. Here's a list of my topics. Each topic will be covered for one week unless otherwise noted. Each week I will be making 6 posts (Monday-Saturday)
Week 1: Starting A Blog
Week 2: Setting Up The Blog
Week 3: Spreading the word about your new Blog
Week 4: SEO, another scarey 3 letter acronym
Week 5: Monetization - Show me the money
Week 6: Show me the money (Part II)
Anyone interested in possibly reviewing the blog after a week or two please let me know. As i'm probably in the google sandbox, I'll need as much help to get my stats up on the site as possible.
In terms of prep, i've already gotten a feedburner feed going, as well as a technorati claim, and I've added the blog to blogs I author on MyBlogLog. I've also added the Google Sitemap plugin to the site.
First major post starts 2/19/07.

What is a long term goal about content? Will you stick with blogging about blogs? This - at least for me - can be good idea. You can spare some time to people who want to learn all about blogs.

posting frequently is always good, if you post every day, people will check your site also everday to see if you've posted new content
good luck with you site

Yep, currently it's looking at least for the first several months the main goal of the site will be promoting the growth of a blog. I'm trying to plug the site before hand also because I want the readers to be able to put in their opinions and lead where the blog goes as well.

I wish your the best success, but the domain seems to hold the project back. It's quite long, and a lower tier domain.

Thats very good idea and the site looks nice except I think I can not view the banner properly. I have much to learn yet on blogging and I will definitley like to read about your experiences.

@ propstm : I'm not hijacking or spamming in your thread here but I have this domain: forumsblogs.net (.com is taken). I have not decided yet what to do with it...you can make an apprasial - am not selling it at this moment though.

No problem boron, ok here's the deal w/ the domain, originally I wanted to promote in a way where if revenue reached point x for the week, i would pay back a random commenter y dollars. So long story short, i purchased the domain, and after much thought I realized that it's very hard if not impossible to not violate a TOS w/ the advertisers by saying that.
More or less how do you say click my ads, without saying click my ads. However, I basically got to liking and growing my initial idea so much I kinda said to hell with the domain name, i'll still grow it.
My intention with the paybacks was not even so much to get me money (ok it was to an extent) but also to promote reader activity on the blog.
@Jhnrang: What do you mean you cannot view the banner properly? What res are you at? I would like to clear up any usabililty issues prior to Monday if at all possible.
EDIT: Jhnrang -- The errors are in IE v6. I will fix this tonight. The errors are in both versions of my site. Grrr.
Thanks!

For usability just check your site with http://browsershots.org to see how it looks in Win/Linux/MacOS/Firfox/I.E. It can take several minutes that you get results, refresh the site regularly.
I can run few other quick tests here also, if you want.

I liked your blog --I am using WINXP--and IE6, I don't know if it had anything to do with my browser--but I saw the header/banner only 3/4th.
instead of sharethemoney -- I could see only ethemoney
I think boron can help you sort out the problem shown on different browser as he seems to have lots of resources.

Google can't find nothing for "sharethemoneywith". Was the site indexed in Google alredy?

Ok, thanks. so there wasn't an issue with the main content and sidebar? I had it come up where the sidebar was below the content. The issue with the title is in the CSS. Please let me know if you have an issue with the sidebar/main content.
Thanks!

Nope, the site's DNS was just pointed to the site yesterday. It's a new kid on the block.

It's an opportunity zhat you decide to "final" design, especially navigation, so Google won't be confused if you'll change this a lot (Google rememmber created pages even if they were deleted later and a site with "mising pages" is not evaluated good).

Ok, so here's what's up. There is an issue with CSS in IE6 wherein you cannot (or i could not) shrink the width of a UL item in the list. Therefore I spent a good 2-3 hours looking for a suitable font for the title. I've finally found one which make the site happy in both IE6, IE7, and Firefox.
