What, in your experience, is the best scheme in ad colors?

#1 - Ads that blend in, so the user is almost 'deceived' into clicking the ads.

#2 - Ads that are opposite of your website color scheme, to make sure you have a good, clean layout and recognition of ads.

#3 - Ads that are dull or pale in color, and don't stand out much.

I've tried all of them. I like using pale ads/opposite color scheme ads because I get good results out of them. Blended ads are supposed to work better, but it draws the visitors attention away from your site too fast I feel sometimes.

Thoughts?

In my experience, ads that are blended in work best. However, experiences may be different for each niche and website, so the best way to know what to do is test; one week with blended colour scheme and one week with colour scheme that pops out.

Create channels if you really want to dig into the stats, but if you make the ads look like an eye sore then they're going to be just that-something to be avoided.

I suggest you blend as best as possible. I've even seen people go so far as to create a list of links w/ text beneath them so that the ad blends right into the list!

I've been successful on the same site in having ads that blend right into the text and those that stick out like a sore thumb - bright blue links on black bg's seemed to work the best for me.

I've seen #1 work the best, for reasons stated above.
