I had also stumbled across this article its pretty interesting.

Not your typical startups though most of these have multi million pound investment and a large number of employees (well more so than normal startups) to keep the site a float.

Yup, I'd like a list of web 2.0 startups that don't have big name companies backing them up. Webmaster just like us would be a nicer list.

I know but thinking of about the grand scale the adminstration of such a list would be phenomenional (if thats how it is spelt :P) and only a limited number of sites could be considered.

I am in favour of these vote for your favourite type awards (as long the as the sites considered have ruffly the same amount of traffic) but not affiliate ones.
