The results at a glance

G Data Security AntiVirusKit (AVK) : 99.5%
AEC TrustPort AV WS : 99,36%
Avira's AntiVir PE Premium : 98.9%,
MicroWorld's eScan Anti-Virus : 97.9%,
F-Secure's Anti-Virus : 97.9%,
Kaspersky Labs' AV : 97.9%
Norton Anti-Virus : 96,83%
McAfee VirusScan : 91,63%
Microsoft OneCare : 82,40%

I found this a bit surprising. Norton, Mcaffe and Microsofts poor performance is expected. But, Kaspersky has an impeccable track record and generally gets 99% + success.

Wow, AEC TrustPort AV WS looks good.

I have McAfee but it only achieves 91.63% percent not so good :S.

I'm thinking of swithing to Norton 360, its just out so not reviewed here.

Man, dont go for norton or mcaffe. Generally Kaspersky has always been the best performer.
I dont get why so many people want to use softs like Mcaffe, Norton and Trend Micro.
See another test available at http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82

Most of these AV have problem detecting new trojans.

Wow, that is suprising. I would have thought a paid program would do better.

I think that the TrendMicro anti virus utility is the best. Don't know much about others. Norton and McAffee use too much computer resources though.

TrendMicro is crap. Palin overhuped.
Kaspersky is the most reputed, yet surprisingly less known (it is popular among the more tech savvy and informed people).
