When Yahoo finish the beta of YPN and start the service to include "everyone" do you think that all of those over-night rich publishers will be left back at square 1 again?
Sure, it would be nice to get the type of money their making ($600 - 700 a day  ), but I honestly am glad I cannot join the beta, nor would want to. Y? Because It makes me work harder with adsense etc...
If this is their only income and when their revenue starts falling, What will be left for the YPN'ers ???

what do you mean "left back at square 1 again"? are they going to take back the money they already payed us?
personally, i make more off google because yahoo is terrible at targeting ads.

Are the publishers going to have to find new ways of generating income from their sites? Because if I was making $600 a day, and it suddenly went down -75%, I would be very unhappy :( In my opinion, and I am sure I am not alone... The idea is to keep raising the bar, eg. revenue...

I understand what you're mean babyboy.
It is no question that shortly after YPN goes public their ad rates will drop. Especially once MSN's AdCentre gains some ground. And Beta YPN publishers will undoubtedly see a drop in earnings.
And while I agree to an extent with your mentality of not taking any shortcuts and seeing the long road ahead and working harder for once YPN does drop, it still makes sense to take advantage of their high rates until they do drop.
YPN Publishers won't be back to square one... YPN Beta seems to pay a lot more for most publishers, but they aren't just giving out free money. Those publishers do have some form of traffic so while they won't be making as much, they'll still be making a decent amount.
I still feel they have a lot of work to do, especially with the targetted ad side of things. The day they get more clients and the day they improve their contextual system is the day these spammy sites stop displaying loans and insurance ads, which will eventually lead to a decrease in revenue for them.

I need to go find my invitation to YPN if they really are paying more than Google heh. (I suppose they may have canceled it now though)

The other problem I see with YPN is they still lack a basic understanding of how the web works. At least half my blog traffic comes from outside the US ... mainly because I write on technical subjects which are not only of US interest. Google apparently can handle ads that aren't US restricted ... I get ads served and clicks paid ... but Yahoo! seems to expect the site publisher to somehow restrict users from visiting .... not very sensible to me.

I can't wait for the day YPN opens, then I'll get more choices in CPC advertising. I'm doing alright on Adbrite, but if I was in YPN I'd make more money possibly, heck yeah I wish I was currently in it. I wonder if webmasters will sell their sites when YPN opens up.

YPN should be opened worldwide. Only then can they compete against Google. I have never tried YPN because I am from India.

They will launch it for sure. They are doing very well in their rates compared to Google. Some of my friends are earning lots using YPM.

I make pretty decent money with Yahoo and plan to continue my success with them when they go out of beta.
