Hahaha! Maybe I shouldn't ask that.
I couldn't get to my blog all day. Wtf?
Is this common?

I never experienced this problem, but why not just host your own blog instead of relying on a middle man?

Blogger is sometimes so crowded that I can't use it. I've heard from others it can be down sometimes.

You'd think if Google can keep up Google.com that they could keep up Blogger.com.

I haven't experienced any problems with blogger either.

I have had a Google out of service error before.

Actually, I remember google related services going down (http://www.pallab.net/2005/11/03/google_is_down/) once.

I'd say blogger uses different nodes around the world (or at least the US). It probably assigns you one based on either your location or some type of index in the database where your blog is stored. Or it could be random...

Anyway, you'd assume the problem is that node being down :P.

I don't know, I would think the network would be setup to not go down because of a node failure.

Ultimately there is going to be one vunerable point, there is always going to be a place where the switchover happens.

I've seen blogger.com sending a lot of refer alls to my websites/blogs recently as well. Interesting, blogger referrals in the stats must not fill in the members blogs, just the general blogger domain.

Well, they suck as far as plug-ins.
I need a plug in similar to Hacker's Diet for Wordpress but I want users to put in their own data and have it charted. Don't know if Hacker's Diet does that or if it's only for personal use.

I need something like the poker profits tracker thing Tyler used to have on pokerforums.com so people can chart their moola.com winnings. It's for my moola site (http://frogwriter.blogspot.com/).

Well it is depend on what people want actually. If you don't know much about how to install, blogger.com and wordpress.com is a great choice. but of course you cannot choose or install the plug-in you want.

If you want to have total control buy your own domain name. You can install and customize it for whatever you want.

I don't see blogger.com as a weakness even with it's crippled plugins, it is relatively still a cool CMS platform for blogs. Just get a domain name so that it is much easier for others to keep your domain name on their mind.

Wordpress is good in many ways because of its plugins and comment form which stands out but still with a self host everything you do is in your control.

Why do you use blogger anyways? Can't you get your own domain and run WordPress on it?
