Hey Guys,

I'm starting a site over the next 5-10 days related directly to freelance articles. I do plan on monetizing the site with adverts and I was wondering what the best way to go about this was since there are several experienced people floating about the forums.

With it being a blog based site, I'm not 100% sure how google ads will:

a) fit in
b) be effective

So I think I'll start to go down the private advertising route, with banners, text links and the such. Now before I decide where to place these ads in the design (to be worked on), I need to hear some of your opinions.

When is it OK to start to sell adverts, and at what price would you sell them at?

How much traffic is appealing to what price bracket, and for what type of exposure (image, or text link)?

Thanks in advance :)

I think that you should start out with google ads and try gaining traffic at first. Try creating a look like ezinearticles. After you have enough traffic, then you can think about private advertising.

Yeah, I'd go with Adsense first to see how much you make monthly and based private ads on those figures. Or $10 monthly if you just want to start out without doing so.
