I was watching click on BBC news this week and saw an interesting section on a system which allowed users to use their eyes to move the on screen cursor.

It looked really cool, all you had to do was look at what you wanted and blink :) and it really did appear to work.

Do you think it will catch on? I hope so :).

I kind of use my mouse/cursor without even thinking about it, and I use it very fast. I'd get so dizzy if I had to use my eyes. Plus, how do you activate it? I don't want it to be on every word I read for example..

I personally think the mouse will survive for many years to come.

Blink, oops, bbblink, ah not, bliiink: no not this, blink, BLINK! argh! :). It is something like voice recognition: technology is simple, differentiating is hard at this moment.

"Don't touch touch screens" are another thing: you make a move with a finger close to the screen and it works like a mouse cursor.

I prefer a mouse for now. Opera has great mouse gestures feature (http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/mouse/).

People often can't help when they blink though... Like (I think) boron said :P.

That's the only real flaw in it I see though - and getting distracted :P.

Still, that'd be awesome for gaming... :P

I wonder if blinking with your left eye would be the equivalent of clicking with the left mouse button. Now that would get confusing.

I'm not entirely sure how it works however I have just googled it and apparently its working for various schools in Utah who have deployed the new device??!

I think people's eyes would be getting extremely tired. Just testing out the concept and my eyes get tired. I would rather get rid of the keyboard before the mouse.

#Make your buttons larger
#Add related content to your landing page including p,h1,h2 tags
#Ad integration is pretty bad, I couldn't see anyone clicking the ad unless they are extremely interested in it.

A little off topic :P. Wrong thread?

Yup, I caught the problem. Didn't know anyone caught onto it before I edited. Maybe my eyes messed up a little.

Its sounds cool, but I am not sure its going to be practical. My eyes wonder around alot. I sometimes do it purposely, to relax my eyes.
