Yes, yes, I gave in and decided to add a separate forum for reviews and critiques. However, let this be the last forum to be added, as we definitely have a lot of forums now!
I've moved all the relevant threads over to this new forum now, if I missed any, you can PM me.
Enjoy.

There were two ideas about reviews: a) # of posts required to ask for a review and b) pay for a review.
Problems are: a) If # of required posts is set to let's say 15, someone will maybe make 15 quick posts just to get a review. If it will be set to 50, there will be only few reviews.
b) Every service must provide direct and considerable benefit to have right to be paid one. Reviews can be free as one of special features of the forum or - can be paid in the future if theyhappen to develop in really professional ones. I also suggest: select sites and be as explicit and accurate as possible.
This forum needs unique features. Digitalpoint is good for trading. Webhostingtalk is good for finding hosting and so on. Admin said that it should have a monetizing accent.

Reviews should remain free, however members post count should be a requirement.
A lot of people looking for backlinks simply use search engines etc to sign up at forums like this and request a review. If there is a minimum post count, it would stop such people.

Well, maybe you are right . Let's wait for other comments about this.
People who look for a link from the last PR0 page on forums don't know their job. If someone can provide a proof that forum links help a lot, do it.

I agree, I would support a minimum post count.

I support a minimum post count, either 10 to 15 posts. Thanks Tyler :)

I suggest that everyone makes as exact reviews as possible - if you are the first reviewer, try to cover as many aspects of the site. If a reviewer above you pointed out some issues, there's no need to repeat them in next reviews (except for design comments which are usually pretty personal).
Many site owners probably won't be able to correct their sites according to review suggestions. So I'm asking you all: What you think about that everyone can post in the review thread that he/she can offer a design/SEO/...service to the site owner but only for free?. All helping discussion can continue right there.

I don't understand why a site owner couldn't correct a website to the suggestions. They shouldn't be a site owner then, :p But if I had the time or resources, sure, why not offer free services. But it should only be if they really need it.

If I suggest someone - total redesign needed - someone is maybe not a designer and will need assistance. Some help may be offer as instruction in the review thread - not always need to actually touch the owner's site. All this is to make reviews - and hence the forum - attractive, usefull. By providing help everyone can build his/her reputation, portfolio...
