I have used adsense and other web advertising programs before but can some explain to me all the terminology? It might be could it there was a sticky thread which details what CPM etc. etc. actually means.

Thanks
Arthur :)

That would be a nice idea.

CPM - Cost per million (pays per thousand impressions)

I think it is cost per millenia (not million) but the m stands for the roman numeral M which is 1000.

Wow, that might actually be one of the biggest Internet publisher misleads. I searched Google, and there are those who support you ideals. I never understood the million part, but if it's M (for the roman numerals) it make absolue sense.

CPM stands for Cost Per Mille - Mille is Latin for thousand and abbreviated to M for Roman Numerals.

I have a glossary for all these terms over at AdBalance (http://adbalance.com/1/glossary) - but if anyone thinks of one I haven't listed or wants more of an explanation I would be happy to help :)

I hand wrote all of the definitions on the glossary of PublisherForum's sister site PublisherSpot. They should give you the best definitions you'll find: www.publisherspot.com/glossary (http://www.publisherspot.com/glossary)
