Surpass Hosting

As I stipulated in the previous thread I would throughly recommend this host. I've been with them since the start of February: the tech support has been excellent and I haven't experienced any downtime :).

They have a great range of features and their servers are pretty fast. They often run promotions as well as its worth keeping your eyes open.

I got a whole years hosting for $1 - 800Gb diskspace and 6000gb bandwidth per month plus all the normal features. That deal is has finished though.

All in all an excellent host.

Media Catch

Allows for great VPS hosting. You can update your package many different ways allowing you the ability to increase your resources before moving onto a dedicated server.

Support is great. They have live chat, which an operator is always available. If they can't fix your problem, a higher technician will look into it and have the problem resolved with a day.

We have found Intermedia to be the best host we've ever had. Their uptime is infalliable; customer support is awesome. Highly recommend Intermedia.

Site5.com is pretty good. I have 2 accounts with them - excellent value for money and generally speaking the support is first class.

I think they're doing 750GB webspace, 7.5tb bandwidth for $7.50 per month (if you pay for 2 years at time). I tend to buy hosting in bulk for 1/2 years so its OK for me. Talk about overselling though.

After researching several companies, I chose Bluehost. They have been excellent and their customer service is awesome. I did a Top 10 on web hosts. If you want to check it out, check out my sig and type in web hosts in the search box.

Reseller ZOOM!

I'm using both Reseller Zoom and Surpass Hosting and I have to say that Reseller Zoom is a lot more professional than Surpass Hosting. Surpass Hosting works well for the cheap price but also don't expect to use up all that space. It's never possible.

Reseller Zoom provides cheap plans and I believe it's the right price for the amount of money. They are pretty popular and been a while for quite a while. It's not these newbie hosting companies either.

Personally for shared hosting, i'd go with HostGator (http://secure.hostgator.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=camuk19), or DreamHost (http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?266843), but for dedicated servers, I highly recommend Webair (http://webair.com). Speak to the guys personally and they'll give you a great deal.

Made2Own.com

They are just 2 cool dudes that run the host with AWESOME service. And by awesome I mean I talk to them on AIM daily. I don't have a ton of technical aptitude so their help is often required and I never have a problem getting their attention.

Let me know if you're thinking about using them... I'll hook you up with the owners' AIM names.

I would reccomend BlueHost (http://www.bluehost.com/track/gfxtuts/text1) I have had several websites hosted with them and never had any problems!

I would stay away from hosts that are too cheap and offer unlimited bandwidth or unlimited disc space. Make sure your hosting company has been in business for at least 5 years and has a t least a phone number. I would vouch for Hostwire (http://www.hostwire.com) for basic web hosting (http://www.hostwire.com), pretty good pricing and reliable.

DreamHost

Dreamhost offers one of the cheapest basic level web hosting services. You can host unlimited domains on it, and you have virtually all the disk space and bandwidth you could ever use (which increase weekly!). It's on a shared server of course so in the long run, you'll run out of CPU before you run out of space or transfer, but I have 2 forums hosted on one cheap hosting plan with about 20k posts each within the past couple months and a lot of daily activity and I still have yet to reach the CPU limit on notoriously CPU intensive forums. :)

We were researching different web hosting services, and came across Server Intellect (http://www.serverintellect.com/hosting/features/windowsserver2008/). Our site had a large amount of traffic, so we needed a hosting company that offered enough capacity to handle it affordably. We found that Server Intellect had a great reputation, and are one of the first Windows Web Hosts and Microsoft Gold Certified Partners to offer Windows Server 2008 'Longhorn' on all Dedicated Servers. Netcraft reviewed them favorably, as well. We very highly recommend Server Intellect.
